I am a volunteer at Ability Wheelz Cycling Centre.  You can find me helping out on a Wednesday, although I am also there on Tuesdays as I cycle with my 25-year-old son Greg, whatever the weather.  I volunteer as cycling is important to Greg.  He likes routine, consistency and loves riding the companion bikes, especially the one with two bells on it.  He also loves the warm welcome he gets every week from the staff and volunteers at the centre.

I have been involved with accessible cycling in Oldham as a volunteer since the first pilot session in 2009.  As part of discussions with families about developing activities for disabled children I helped arrange for a local organisation to bring some adapted bikes to a fun day at Radcliffe school in April 2009.  The bikes were a huge hit with all the children and the rest, as they say, is history.
