Hello, I’m Emma. I joined the SENDIASS Team in 2019 and returned in 2021 following a secondment to the SEND Helpline service which supported parents to access vital information and support throughout the covid-19 pandemic. I have previously volunteered for IPSEA and have completed my SEND law training.

I am a proud parent of two young people with SEND, both have differences ranging from ADHD, ASD, Sensory Impairment, Anxiety, Blackouts and Speech and Language, this means life can be challenging but getting the right support shouldn’t be.  After going out of area to educate myself via different training events run by the ADHD foundation, on my children's needs I was able to be a real advocate for them.  This has given me the experience, knowledge and passion to help others, as I learnt first-hand it is not easy and the right information is not always available.

I believe we are all in this together, children, young people, parents and carers - we all need a voice, need to be informed and listened to.

Thank you for reading a little about me and why I am passionate to be here. I’d love to hear about you and how I can help.
