Hi, I’m Gary and I started volunteering at the cycling centre in 2011.  Over the years I’ve learned extensive knowledge about the centre and the types of bikes we have.  No matter your additional need or disability we will have the right kind of bike for you.

I am Level 3 First Aid trained and have a basic understanding of BSL.  I am a qualified cycle mechanic and along with my team members make sure that all our bikes are regularly maintained, serviced and repaired.

I’ve recently also been learning about fishing which is another activity that we’re now providing for children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities in Oldham.

Cycling is a big passion of mine which is why I enjoy being at the cycling centre and supporting more children and young people to have accessible cycling and seeing them enjoying this activity.

In August 2022 I progressed from a volunteer to a paid member of the team as POINT Activities Co-ordinator.  I'm really happy that I can continue to provide a high level of support to the service for many years to come.
